About the game

A small independent studio, a city on the Nile and a lot of pixels drawn by code.

What we are making

Anubis City is a social casino in an Egyptian pixel-art city. We wanted a place that feels like a real town — with people walking about, conversations on the square and games behind every door — rather than a lobby full of buttons.

We take inspiration from the classic virtual casino worlds of the early web, where you could walk around, meet people and play cards together, and we rebuild that idea in our own way: modern browsers, careful pixel art and a setting we love.

Drawn by code

  • The city — buildings, water, the sunset sky and Anubis the Guardian — is painted pixel by pixel by procedural code, in 2.5D with perspective, light from the front and above, and a limited Egyptian palette.
  • The characters are built from a 3D skeleton with volumes and rasterised into pixels from four sides, at twice the density of the city.

That is why the game loads quickly and looks the same on every screen.

Our principles

  • No real-money gambling. Debens and ankhs are for play only and can never be cashed out.
  • Honesty. AI players are always marked, features that are not ready yet are marked “coming soon”, and the numbers on this site are real.
  • Fair dealing. Randomness lives on the server; your cards are yours alone.
  • Adults only. The game is for players aged 18 and over.

HorusGames

HorusGames is a small independent studio. Anubis City is our first world, and we are building it step by step: the city, poker, characters, accounts and friends are here; the slot and houses are next. Follow the news and the roadmap to see how it grows.
